Williams F1 Team has revealed their livery for the 2023 season, becoming the third team to launch its campaign.

Much like Haas and Red Bull, the Grove-based team only showed their livery for this season, not revealing any of the car’s new aerodynamic concepts.

The FW45 machine will be tasked with helping Williams rebuild and climb the field, after a sequence of difficult seasons.

James Vowles joining as team principal is indicative of the Dorilton Capital’s ambitions with the British squad, although it might take some time until they can make meaningful progress.

Williams was competitive enough to fight for points on several occasions last year but still finished firmly last in the Constructors’ standings.

Whilst they managed to secure more points than Alfa Romeo and the same points as Haas in the second half of the season, it is safe to say that Williams is still playing catch-up.

The arrival of James Vowles is certainly a boost, but he is unlikely to have any meaningful impact on the team’s development ahead of 2023.

Instead, the former Mercedes strategist will be focused on laying the necessary foundations for Williams to re-establish itself in Formula 1’s increasingly competitive midfield.

Logan Sargeant is expected to offer more in terms of performance than his predecessor Nicholas Latifi, so Williams can be pleased with their improved driver lineup this season.

New sponsorship from Gulf Oil International is also encouraging for the team, who will be eager to get closer to F1’s budget cap this year.

Fans might be slightly underwhelmed that Gulf did not have a more significant impact on the 2023 Williams livery, but their partnership with the team will be invaluable nonetheless.

Here is what the Williams driver pairing said ahead of the 2023 season:

Alex Albon: “I’m really excited to be starting back for another year with the team. The car looks great and will hit the track at Silverstone.

“The team has worked really hard last year and over the winter to address some key areas in our car, putting in the work to try and maximize what we get out of the car for 2023, so I’m looking forward to seeing what the FW45 can do.

“We also welcome new partners to the team this year, so it’s great to have them onboard.”

Logan Sargeant: “I’m really excited for the season to get started after what, for me, feels like a long winter.

“I’m super motivated, and we’ve put a lot of hard work in. The car is looking amazing, and it shows the huge effort the team has put in the off-season, so I’m looking forward to getting started at Silverstone before heading out to Bahrain.”
